Race Of Remembrance Karting
Sunday 10th November - Thruxton Kart Centre
“The RoR Karting endurance race was great fun. The Pitlane Service of Remembrance was incredibly moving. This is a fantastic way to pay tribute to those we have lost.”
Now in its fourth year, we’re teaming up with BARC and Thruxton Karting Circuit once again to bring Race of Remembrance Karting, a unique race, to the South.
Proving to be a popular event in the RoR calender, the unique 2-hour endurance karting race, held on Remembrance Sunday, is suspended for a poignant pitlane service. Open to anybody who wishes to participate in a Remembrance Service, we welcome not only those participating but Serving Personnel, Veterans, racers, teams, officials, volunteers, families and the wider community.
RoR Karting sees racers take to the track with one mission - to commemorate the fallen, and support those that remain with us, whilst all the time battling it out to take the title of “RoR Karting Champion.”
The race consisting of 18 teams, can be made up of between 4-6 people. Each team are asked to fundraise a minimal amount of £100 in addition to the race entry costs. Helpful tips and guidance can be found here.
The track
The outdoor karting center boasts a 1,100m circuit, up to 7m wide in places allowing 3-4 karts to race abreast, and is the first location to boast a unique flyover.
With a loop and hairpin incorporated into the circuit, the race promises exciting corners and high speeds.
18 teams of 4-6 people will be racing in Thunderkarts from Biz. The karts are combined with the 390cc Honda Thunder engine, making it a lighter kart with a more sensitive and progressive response to driver input, particularly at speed.
Karting Race of Remembrance will return in 2024. Details will be announced soon!
