What is the Race of Remembrance?
Race of Remembrance is the annual endurance race run by Mission Motorsport. 2018 will be the fifth running of the event and commemorates the 100th anniversary of the end of Great War hostilities. Though primarily a ‘clubman’ event, RoR attracts a diverse crowd of racers from novices to experts. Mission Motorsport beneficiaries play a huge part in the event; organising, planning, providing, racing, spannering and covering the action.
Race of Remembrance is a Remembrance Service with a race attached, not the other way around. The entire focus is on the pitlane service at 1100hrs Sunday.

Anglesey Circuit (Trac Mon) LL63 5TF, Remembrance Weekend, November 9th-11th, 2018.

Who can enter?
The race is open to all however, single car endurance entry will always take preference over a relay entry, up to and including the 11th October 2018. On that date the entry and reserve list will be published. All drivers require a minimum of an MSA National B Race Licence and all cars will be scrutineered by an MSA scrutineer.
NB: All overseas participants competing on a licence not issued by the MSA (Motor Sports Association) must present at sign on an “Authorisation of Participation” certificate issued by their National Licensing body (ASN). Drivers will not be allowed to sign on and compete in the event without all required paperwork. Please remember this event is not on an international permit and therefore an FIA International authorisation printed on licence cards will not authorise you to compete in this national permitted event.
The Remembrance Service
At c.1040hrs on Remembrance Sunday the race is halted by Safety Car and all drivers returned to be parked on the start/finish line in order. The Remembrance Service is held in the pitlane directly ahead of Race Control (weather dependent). Following the service, the race will be restarted at c.1120hrs and continue to the finish. The service is open to all, regardless of whether competing in the event.
What are the classes?

When entering it is essential that you advise the entries secretary what Championship/Series your car is specifically running to. If your car is not a series specific car it will be placed into the appropriate class following qualification.
What does Invitational mean and does my car qualify?
The Invitational Class is designed to allow cars that do not fit into the above classes, but do meet the spirit of the race, for example the Honda CRV campaigned in the 2017 race. If you would like to have a discussion about a potential entry please email the RoR Committee on email@example.com.
What is the 2018 policy on relay entries?
The 2018 race again caters for teams who would like to enter in relay. However, changes have been made this year to reflect the fact that the committee will always show preference to a single car endurance entry. This year we aim to limit relay entries to around a quarter of the grid maximum and these places will be sold on a first come first served basis. Once we meet a certain number of relay entries we will stop taking deposits until the finalised grid is confirmed.
Those relay entries will compete against one another essentially as a race within a race. Working to MSA regulations of five cars minimum equalling a class there will be relay classes mirroring the above class list. For clarity relay teams can only win the relay class and cannot win the overall Race of Remembrance. For those that have competed at RoR in relay before you’ll know the challenges faced by the organisers and infrastructure at Anglesey to accommodate all with covered space. This year there will be a greater provision of marshals, specific (outdoor) parking/storage for relay teams and a commitment to aim for a provision of marquee/dry space for 2 cars per team at any one time.
How much is an entry to Race of Remembrance?
This year the cost of a team entry has risen by £100 to £2,200 in total. A £500 deposit is required on entry and the remainder due on or before September 1st, 2018.
This year Mission Motorsport, BARC and the MSA will be enforcing the race regulations to the strictest of manners. This is to include but not limited to tyres, power/weight and more. Cars that are X% quicker than peer cars in qualification will be moved class. Sandbagging will be looked at dimly and may bring in to question you and your teams’ future participation in our event.

Once again Mission Motorsport will be running a free practice session ahead of the race. This has yet to be formally timetabled but will consist of a half day (c.3,5hrs) of open pit testing. The cost of this is £150 per car. For clarity any number of (accredited, signed on) drivers may test the car through the session. Each booking is for ONE car only, if you are a relay team, please understand you will need to make separate bookings for each car you want to test. Spaces are limited to 65 places (agreed MSA Track Limit of 50 plus 30% as per MSA Year Book Regulation D 15.1.1). As per 2017 this will be provided by a third-party fuel company who will set up with their multi-rig between the pitlane and Paddock Café. Payment is between individual teams and the fuel supplier.
Tyre Change Facility
This is TBC but we’re aiming to have the facility available in the paddock Friday to Sunday of the event. More information to follow on this.
Through the summer months the precise timetable of the event will be confirmed and communicated. However, for planning purposes, it’s safe to assume that it will follow a similar format to 2017. This included (optional) free practice on Friday AM, Night qualifying on Friday PM, day qualifying on Saturday AM, race start Saturday PM, race restart Sunday AM, race finish Sunday c.1600hrs.

Assuming an MSA mandated minimum of five cars to make a class, the prize categories will be:

Heroes Dinner, food & entertainment
This year we will once again host the Heroes Dinner on Friday evening in the main marquee. A lot of key information will be shared during the evening so all teams are encouraged to attend if possible. The event will include dinner, a showing of the latest film made about RoR by Motorsport Magazine and drinks late into the night. Following comments requested last year you may be pleased to hear that we’ve changed catering company and have massively improved the quality and availability of hot and cold food throughout the weekend, Heroes Dinner included. Closer to the event we’ll share more details including menus and more.
Garaging & numbering
All Heroes Trophy entrants will receive one pitlane garage space per entry, parking for one support vehicle directly behind that garage.
All relay entrants will receive space for 2 x cars in the Relay Marquee and specific adjoining parking/storage for additional cars and support vehicles.
Teams have the option to request specific numbering for their car(s) once a completed entry form has been received and deposit paid. Each team is given the opportunity to select three options when booking. Confirmation of these numbers will be made on September 1st when final payments are due.
