Gearing up for 2019

We may be eight months away from the next Race of Remembrance (RoR) but plans are already under way and the entries are rolling in! Every year we get bigger and better and this year is no exception. We’re seeing higher than ever demand for places this year and as a result we’ve extended the number grid places to 53 – the maximum available – but they’re going fast.

We hope that you will be one of the lucky teams joining us this year. Alongside the bigger race, we are also planning better than ever off-track entertainment and, as always, a very, very special Remembrance Service.

Please see below news on entries and clasases, or download the PDF version ror news 190319

Entries

Just four weeks since opening entries and we’ve already taken deposits on over half the available places. All places will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

Each week we are updating the entry list and can now confirm that the following have been sold:

Class Description Entries sold
Citroen C1 All cars running to the Citroen C1 Challenge regulations 6
1600cc Cars up to a maximum capacity of 1600cc, normally aspirated 6
1800cc Cars up to a maximum capacity of 1800cc, normally aspirated 1
2000cc Cars up to a maximum capacity of 2000cc, normally aspirated 5
Caterham Cars running to Caterham Roadsport, Tracksport etc regulations 1
Lotus Cars running to Lotus Cup UK specification 4
Relay Multiple car entries 3

If you run in a series outside of the above class structure (but below 2000cc multivalve) and would like to discuss creating your own class, please email the RoR committee to discuss in more detail.

Please note that Motorsport UK requirements mandate a minimum of five cars for a class and RoR will be adhering to this.

Note on Invitational class

Previous competitors may notice a lack of a formalised Invitational class at RoR19. This is deliberate. The original purpose of the Invitational was to allow two types of entries:

  • disabled drivers who required something specific to compete, for example a sequential gearbox
  • vehicles that fall outside of the standard class structure but who we’d like to see compete, for example the Honda / MM built CRV which raced in 2017 and 2018.

If you believe you meet the requirements, please do not enter but do email us to discuss further.

End of discounted entry

If any competitor books and pays their deposit before 23:59 on Sunday 31st March, they will pay the 2018 entry fee of £2,200. All entries received after that time will be billed at the full 2019 rate of £2,400.

Whether early bird or later entry, the process remains the same: compete the online entry form with Team Name, indicated class, whether a single car or relay team, hit submit and pay your £500 deposit. The full balance for all entries must be paid by or before 23:59hrs on Saturday 31st August.

Half Day Testing

Back by popular demand, Mission Motorsport is once again offering a half day open pit testing for all entrants. At a cost of £150 per car, the session will take place on the morning of Friday November 8th. If interested please email us, booking will only be confirmed once payment has been made.

For Heroes Trophy entrants this means any signed-on driver can test the vehicle. For relay teams it means a single car from your team can be on track at any given time. Multiple car bookings are also available. Contact us on the above email address for more information.

Make sure you don’t miss out on our unique and very special Race of Remembrance. We can’t wait!
